Kalaadhaanam, which translates to “Art Donation,” was born from a simple observation by our founder, Kavitha Jayaraman. While working with grassroots organizations in India, Kavitha noticed a critical trend: while passion was abundant, consistent funding was scarce. Small organizations lacked the visibility to sustain their vital work, relying on sporadic referrals rather than a steady stream of support.

Kalaadhaanam was envisioned to solve this imbalance. By integrating philanthropy into the very fabric of music education, we created a model where students are not just learners, but active contributors to social change.

Since 2017, our community has raised approximately $95,000 USD, impacting 16 different charities focused on child development. We don't just teach art; we cultivate a culture of service that spans borders, with the long-term goal of enabling art educators worldwide to fund the NGOs that need it most in their own communities.

We are proud to be one of the few music education organisations in the world aligned with 3 of the UN's 15 Sustainable Development Goals - Quality Education, Gender Equality, No Poverty
